Live Team Tournament Events

Teams compete in live tournament events every Tuesday and Thursday night like Trivia Night or the Penny Challenge to earn a spot on the leaderboard and various prizes.

Team Formation + The Ultimate Escape Room

7-9 PM ET, July 12

Meet your teammates and form a team identity. Then, enter a convoluted online science escape room that tests your problem solving and science skills to escape before all other teams.

Real World Scavenger

7-9 PM ET, July 14

Go outside and observe the world in a 2-hour race to complete a grand scavenger hunt that makes you apply science concepts in the real world.

Engineering Challenge

7-9 PM ET, July 19

In under two hours, use household items to engineer a device that performs a mechanical task better than all other teams.

Science Trivia Night Faceoff

7-9 PM ET, July 21

Face off against other teams in a bracketed tournament where you play against other teams in answering fast-paced science trivia.

The Final Camp Project

July 23rd - July 28th

The final project details are hidden until July 23rd, 7 PM ET. Projects will be presented on the 28th.

Live Tournament FAQ

How can I prepare?

No need to! All Zoom links for the live events will be sent later. As for the Final Camp Project which requires you to work on a project for a week, you will have plenty of supervision from your counselor.

How do I get points?

Points can be gained from live team events, individual weekly course challenges, and team spirit!

Individual Weekly Course Score = (up to 80 per challenge) + 5 * (# of attended classes + # of bonus attendance)

Team Weekly Course Performance = Sum of top course of each student

What's the best strategy to win?

It's simple: be competitive, work well with your team, and ensure your team is aware of all camp announcements and updates.

How much time will I have to put in?

For the first four live events, simply show up to the Zoom link from 7-9 PM ET (4-6 PM PT). However, for the Final Camp Project, your performance will most likely depend on how much time and effort your team puts into the project.
